BSiN recorded another tremendous success yesterday, the 5th day of February, 2019 as the team led a sensitization program to Onike Community area of Lagos state on the theme “Breaking the culture of silence among children”.
The chief speaker admonished and encouraged female school children on the need to value their body and never allow any inappropriate touch, adding that their body is their treasure, excerpts. … “Anyone telling you, i love you, could be a potential molester. Discourage any touch on your private parts. Do not allow anyone, truncate your future. You are potential housewives, leaders of tomorrow”
Not fewer than 800 students were empowered. 20 female students came out to disclose what has been bothering them.
The second phase of the exercise was the counselling session where students revealed how they have been sexually abused by their neighbors, and relatives. Others have suffered neglect and other forms of abuse by relatives. They were counselled by our team of counselors and follow-up strategies initiated.
It was a wonderful exercise that motivated the audience to composing a song of appreciation to BSiN. Video speaks
